Yesterday I wanted to have fun with my manicure. It had to be original and bicolor : pastel purple and silver grey. And that’s how I tried the “tape” manicure. yes it sounds strange, but it is really great to try new things and experiment. So here are the steps to follow to do a manicure with tape.
Step 1 : Do one coat or two of your main colour (after one coat of your base of course). And let it dry completely.
Step 2 : Once the main colour is completely dry, cut some tape, and then stick it on your nails (one nail at a time is easier). It is important that the tape is perfectly stuck on your nail, avoid bubbles or it will be messy. I chose to do a kind of “french” but you can be a lot more creative.
IMPORTANT : before sticking the tape on your nails, stick it on your hand 2 or 3 times to make it less sticky, so it doesn’t rip off your first nail polish.
Step 3 : Do one coat of the second colour where there isn’t tape on your nail. Then remove the tape immediately (don’t let it dry), but be careful and take your time.
Step 4 : Do one coat of your favorite top coat, so the difference of thickness is less obvious. And voila you are done.
If you want something which takes less time, you can do something more creative but on only one nail for each hand.
So what do you think, do you like my manicure ?
PS : There is a guest star one these photos, my favourite pajamas ahah
PS2 : My silver glittery nail polish is still there, I find it so difficult to remove that I prefer to let it be as long as it looks good. As it is in the same colour range as the rest of my manicure, I like the result and it doesn’t bother me.
